It's officially ours

We got the keys to our new home yesterday. It's a 1600 square foot, 4 bed 2 bath home. We'll be spending any spare moment cleaning and prepping for all the fixing that needs to be done before we move in. Here's a rough list:

1. acoustic ceilings removed (even the stuff in the closets, why is it there?)
2. painting
3. new moldings
4. new carpeting and flooring
5. main bath re-do
6. kitchen re-do

We are attempting most of it ourselves, and when it gets tricky we'll call in the professionals. But we are in need of advice too, so I'll be posting questions here and there. keep watch for a "which kitchen" posting soon.

First question which doesn't even need to be asked...Do we keep the keychain?

Yahoo! Congratulations.

The keychain rocks!

Can't wait to watch the chaos unfold.

#1: You HAVE to keep the keychain; it has sentimental value now.
#2: Can we get a couple of details? Like where it is?

oh come on now, where is your evangelical enthusiasm, that key chain is positively dreamy, but with a redo list like you have perhaps a wrecking ball would be more appropriate. i love your cute new house. Congratulations and good luck with your new adventure.

Only if you are into doves or rainbows or doves flying over rainbows or really tacky keychains.

You're right, the answer is clear. Talk about gift with purchase! Call us with questions, don't be shy. Dan's a great resource. Too bad we don't live closer, we would love to help. My best advice? Hire a plumber. That's a tough inspection to pass, and you don't want to learn on your own home. How fun! I can't wait to visit.

Congratulations. I am sad it is so far away, but I am glad you got a home. On the acoustic ceilings. I know it is something you can do yourself, but my brother in law has done it and would pay just about anything to not have to do it again. They are in Reno, it would have cost them 4 times what my parents paid per room down here, so it may be worth looking into. I think my parents used Dove and they charged $100 a room and re-textured too. You would just need to paint. Just a thought...
Congratulations again.

I say keep the keychain, and whatever is made of that boss fabric behind it.

AHHHHHHHHHHH!!! So excited for you guys! Where is this place?? We can't wait to come check it out and it's totally okay if none of the listed items have been accomplished, in fact, we'll come dirty and ready to work. The key chain stays for sure- it's like a gay peace dove - I love it!
